Gellis to provide evaluation and strategic communications services to the European External Action Service

Brussels, 5 September 2011 - With the European Union’s new foreign affairs-focused European External Action Service gearing up for significant activity in the current and coming years,  consultancies from around Europe have been eyeing developments with interest. Among them, Brussels-based Gellis participated in the 2011 call for tenders to provide the EEAS with Evaluation Services for Communication Activities.

Web 2 EU - The IABC Event, 17 February

On Thursday evening, Gellis enjoyed the stimulating discussion of the IABC’s Web2EU discussion. In fact George and I arrived an hour late and apparently missed the most interesting bit, which we’ll just have to assume was nothing short of astonishing. Anyway, the theme dominating the open floor chatter was “the EU’s problem with social media and trust”.

And so it ends…. In a slightly fudgey final that was both frustratingly sterile and viciously chaotic, but that eventually ended with the right victor before penalties (phew!), thanks to Inesta’s awesome strike in the 106th minute.

Gellis Communications is short-listed for the IPRA Golden World Awards

This year, Gellis’ DG ECFIN Educational project on the euro made it to the final round of judging in the Communication Research category for the flagship IPRA event – the Golden World Awards. Gellis has been short-listed once previously for a Golden World, and earlier in the year, the DG ECFIN project succeeded in winning the IABC Gold Quill Award.

How to blow your own trumpet

Well we might as well start with the punchline: Gellis has just won an IABC Gold Quill award. Naturally we want to tell everyone – it’s a great opportunity to talk about what we’ve been doing and raise our profile in general. But how does one select the right channels for such obvious self promotion and how can we talk about it in a way that makes people actually want to read it?
